Accessibility

One aim I have for this site is to make it accessible to anyone. I support that aim by using web standards in a semantic manner, and by letting user agents (e.g., your browser) do the things they are meant to do like print pages and resize text. Outside of these fundamental considerations, the following information may be of help to you for moving about this site.

Navigation Aides

I do use skip to… links at the top of every page. These links allow users of keyboard navigation to skip the primary navigation and go directly to main content regions.

I don’t use access keys in this site for three reasons:

  1. This site’s content structure is not so complex to warrant access key implementation.
  2. Access keys are not deemed to provide any significant benefit over the current link aides already implemented.
  3. Access key assignments I might choose could conflict with those already employed in assistive devices for other functions, and that would defeat their value.

Adjusting Text Size

Text in this site is designed to resize fluidly by using the controls provided in your browser. Rather than write long explanations of what these controls are for every browser, I give you the benefit of the doubt that you know your browser’s features and how to use them.

Similarly, your browser may be one of those on the market that provides a zoom feature. Again, benefit of the doubt is given that you know if your browser provides this function and how to make use of it.

Joyent Hosting

Wion is hosted by Joyent, and will likely remain that way since I have a lifetime account with them on a shared Accelerator (something they call their servers). As long as Joyent stays in business and stays true to it’s lifetime members, I shouldn’t have need of new hosting services again.
